What to expect during treatment
Digital Consultation and Smile Preview
Dr. Lovell or Dr. Anderson will take 3D scans of your teeth to evaluate your alignment and bite. Using digital simulation software, you’ll see a preview of how your smile could look after treatment. We’ll discuss your timeline, cost, and answer all your questions.
Custom Aligner Fabrication
Your aligners are custom-made based on your 3D scan and treatment plan. Each set is designed to move your teeth gradually toward their final positions. You’ll receive multiple sets of aligners to wear at home.
Wearing Your Aligners
You’ll wear each set of aligners for about 1–2 weeks, 20–22 hours per day, removing them only to eat and brush. As you progress through each set, your teeth move closer to their ideal positions.
Progress Check-Ins
You’ll visit our Morton or Washington office every 6–10 weeks so we can monitor your progress and provide your next sets of aligners. These appointments are quick and efficient, designed to fit into your busy schedule.
Retainers for Long-Term Results
Once treatment is complete, you’ll receive custom retainers to maintain your new smile. Retainers protect your investment and keep your teeth in their ideal positions for years to come.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does Invisalign treatment take?
Most patients complete Morton & Washington Invisalign treatment in 12–18 months, though timelines vary based on the complexity of your case. Mild crowding or spacing may finish faster, while more involved bite corrections may take longer. We’ll give you an accurate estimate at your consultation.
Is Invisalign as effective as braces?
Yes, for many cases. Morton & Washington Invisalign works exceptionally well for crowding, spacing, and mild to moderate bite issues. Complex cases involving significant rotations or severe bite discrepancies may be better suited for braces. We’ll recommend the best option for your specific needs.
Will wearing aligners affect my speech?
Some patients notice a slight lisp for the first few days as they adjust to wearing aligners. This typically resolves quickly as your mouth adapts. Practicing speaking out loud can help speed up the adjustment period.
What happens if I lose or break an aligner?
Contact our office right away. Depending on where you are in your treatment, we may advise moving to your next set early, wearing your previous set temporarily, or ordering a replacement. We’ll guide you through the best course of action to keep your treatment on track.
